The owner, Spencer Mesick, launched QC Wildscaping into action in the Summer of 2024. Spencer has spent the past 13 years teaching high school environmental science while also serving as Bettendorf High School’s Conservation Club advisor. As Conservation Club advisor he has helped students build and install bird houses on campus, photograph the wildlife on campus and wildscape the campus to help save the monarch butterfly. Spencer is a QC native with only a brief time away earning his BS in Biology at Iowa State University in 2011. In 2022 Spencer became Nationally Board Certified in teaching and he earned a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Illinois. When he is not teaching Spencer spends his free time volunteering with the Bettendorf Conservation Committee. Through this committee he has led efforts to survey the plant biodiversity in the 300 acres of natural areas in Bettendorf parks, while also participating in numerous litter and invasive species removals, and wildflower and tree plantings. Most importantly, Spencer is a devoted husband and father, and he is looking forward to putting his education and life experiences into action to better his community today and for generations to come.
